Best Vitamin A Supplements in 2023
The vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin and one of three-protective antioxidants. It’s the key for good vision, and its highly recommended to maintain the body’s natural defenses, growth, cell division, reproduction, online tramadol post and immune system health.
There are two types of vitamin A. The preformed Vitamin A (or retinol) and the provitamin A or carotenoids. The first is from animal sources, including dairy, fish, and meat. And the second type, by far the most important is the Beta-carotene or Carotenoids found in plant base foods, such as lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin.
Vitamin A may protect you against free radical damages. Some studies demonstrate that taking vitamin A from whole plant foods help reduce your risk of certain cancers, including Hodgkin’s lymphoma, as well as cervical, lung and bladder cancer.
Deficiency of Vitamin A can cause night blindness, cataract and macular degeneration. Certain groups of people are more prone than others to have trouble getting enough vitamin A: Some examples are people that suffer from Cystic fibrosis, premature babies, pregnant and breastfeeding women in developing countries.
Because vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, excess amounts can be stored in the body, these levels may accumulate primary in the liver causing significant toxicity (known as hypervitaminosis A). Symptoms of hypervitaminosis “A” are dizziness, nausea, headaches, skin irritation, pain in joints and bones, coma, and even death.
On the other hand, consuming high amounts of the provitamin A or beta-carotene can turn the skin yellow-orange, but this condition is harmless and is not associated with major adverse effects. High intakes of beta-carotene do not cause birth defects, or the other more serious effects that could be a result of intaking too much of the preformed vitamin A or retinol.
The recommended daily intake of vitamin A is 700 – 900 micrograms (mcg) for people aged 14 years and older. And a range between 1,200 and 1,300 mcg. for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
My main advice is to follow a healthy diet that incorporates plenty of plant base foods rich in beta-carotene, such as green leafy vegetables, carrots and cantaloupe.
Taking a supplement could be beneficial for people that have a condition that increase the need for Vitamin A, such as pancreatic cancer or other types of cancer, acne, eye disease, cystic fibrosis or measles. Vitamin A supplement may also be beneficial for people with poor or limited diet, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
After carefully studying this vitamin, my recommendation is to take a plan base Beta-carotene supplement rather than taking the performed vitamin A supplement. Beta-carotene is the precursor of vitamin A and the human body can convert beta-carotene into vitamin A. The advantage of taking a dietary beta carotene supplements is that the body only converts as much as it needs.

So, before you decide to buy, I am encouraging you to do a little comparison shopping. Bring along your reading glasses and take a few minutes to review the percent of Daily Values (DV) for each nutrient the supplement contains.
There are a great variety of Beta Carotene supplements listed in amazon but unfortunately I was only able to recommend this supplement. The reason why is that while some claim to be natural and good for your health, they are mostly packed with soybean oil and some even have artificial flavors, additives, and titanium dioxide.
